The Position

My client is currently recruiting for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join their established Commercial department. You will create, deliver and continually improve both the financial and contractual control of projects in order to achieve the Departmental and Corporate Objectives by utilising the existing business control procedures and encourage improvements to same wherever practicable to do so.

 

About the role;

  • The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
  • Be actively involved in the detailed review, analysis and monitoring of the procurement and construction budget for the construction team and specialist subcontractors as well as the design delivery programmes of the design teams.
  • Monitor overall construction costs against construction budget, including prelims and trade packages.
  • Report to the Managing Surveyor any risks, budget variance, subcontract accounts and the like.
  • Review actual design and subcontract packages and construction progress against the construction budget and prepare monthly cost reports.
  • Produce monthly reconciliations of construction costs against cost report and report to the Managing Surveyor accordingly.
  • Produce monthly valuations in partnership with the Managing Surveyor regarding progress on site against the contract sum analysis. Meet and agree the valuations with the nominated fund PQS and follow through to certification.

 

The candidate;

  • Experience of leading and implementing a broad range of projects, managing subcontracts, supply chains and ensuring service performance.
  • Must have experience working on large residential projects, either for a main contractor or property developer.
  • Proven ability to define and implement the right strategy depending on the circumstances and requirements.
  • Successful track record of leading complex negotiations
  • Must have good general knowledge of tendering and procurement and be able to use Microsoft Office applications efficiently
