About the Role: They need a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join their Northern Home Counties Commercial team. This exciting opportunity will be ideal for a candidate with an interest in Quantity Surveying and aspirations to progress and grow within the industry. Working alongside your knowledgeable team members this is a fantastic learning opportunity and chance to get your foot in the door with a reputable fast-paced and growing organisation.  

Working alongside their Commercial team, you will support and assist them with a wide variety of duties, to help towards the smooth day-to-day of the department. 

  • Assist the Commercial team with document management ensuring systems and procedures are established and followed
  • Ensure documents are managed accurately in a timely manner
  • Assisting the flow of information between clients and the relevant teams within the business
  • Coordinating document control, ensuring accurate electronic and hard copy filing
  • Efficient communication with the commercial team regarding any drawing or documents
  • Ensure smooth running of the office, including procuring all office equipment and providing any admin support where necessary
  • Assisting in establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies
  • Performing risk, value management and cost control
  • Advising on procurement strategy
  • Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks
  • Preparing and analysing costings for tenders
  • Valuing completed work and arranging payments
  • Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use
  • Any ad hoc duties required by the Director or the commercial team

About the Requirements;

  • GCSE Minimum 7 A-C / 5-9 including math
  • PC skills, in particular
  • Take on new concepts quickly.
  • Effective communicator (written and verbal).
