Job Duties
- Provide essential leadership, management and coaching of Remediation and Demolition personnel
- Provide direction to the Project Coordinator and give them required information for execution of duties
- Be accountable and manage the successful execution of a portfolio of projects in accordance with the scope, schedule and budget from start to finish
- Direct the activities of all operational staff and monitor the performance of subcontractors
- Attend various start-up, progression and close-out in-house and client meetings as required
- Work with the General Superintendent and Health & Safety department to develop and maintain safety and quality control plans and programs
- Ensure all projects are completed with worker Health and Safety as the utmost priority; complete site safety inspections as required
- Ensure compliance with Regional (provincial and territorial) and other regulatory authorities
- Ensure compliance with overall in-house and client Health and Safety Policy and Programs
- Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- In cooperation with the Vice President, Business Operations, plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules
- In cooperation with the Vice President, Business Operations and General Superintendent plan and prepare project manpower requirements in Viewpoint and monitor progress against established plan
- In cooperation with the Vice President, Business Operations and General Superintendent plan and prepare project equipment requirements in Viewpoint and monitor progress against established plan
- Complete a cost/revenue projection for all projects and update/review with Vice President, Business Operations at least monthly
- Complete monthly progress billing for all projects and update/review with Vice President, Business Operations
- Review all progress invoices and ensure they are issued on a timely basis and follow up on any outstanding accounts
- Oversee subcontracts and the purchase of material(s)
- Ensure that all cost tracking is being completed correctly by the Project Coordinators in Viewpoint
- Prepare weekly operating report and present to Vice President, Business Operations weekly
- Meet with site foremen at least 2 times per week and use execution control tools to monitor productivity and create action plans to address variances
Requirements
- College, University or equivalent work experience in a related discipline (i.e. Construction/Project Management)
- Minimum of 5 years’ project management experience, with a minimum of 3 years as a Project Manager for Demolition/ Construction projects
- Ability to analyze and evaluate complex problems and to plan and lead multidisciplinary teams to execute demolition solutions
- Knowledge of environmental legislation, standards, and guidelines related to demolition
- Knowledge of the engineering design, tender, and construction management processes and related contractual conditions for a variety of demolition technologies
- Ability achieve results through others
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated willingness to be adaptable and flexible to changing and competing priorities
- Familiarity with demolition methods and legislation
- Strong preference will be given to candidates with Viewpoint and B2W construction software experience
