Geotechnical Engineer to join their Vancouver team.

The Opportunity As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of projects from proposal through to construction. This position places a strong emphasis on
technical analysis and design, making it well suited to someone with a passion for geomechanics and problem-solving.
You will be involved in a broad range of projects — from smaller developments to large-scale infrastructure works — while also mentoring junior staff and contributing to overall project execution.
Key Responsibilities - Support and manage multiple geotechnical projects from proposal stage through to completion, including budgeting, resourcing, and client coordination
- Perform geotechnical evaluations and analyses related to:
- Foundation design (shallow and deep)
- Slope stability
- Temporary excavation and shoring systems
- Liquefaction and seismic assessments
- Soil improvement methods
- Retaining wall design
- Plan and oversee field investigations, including drilling programs, logging, sampling, construction inspections, and testing
- Carry out advanced geotechnical analyses using modern industry tools and methodologies
- Prepare and review technical proposals in response to RFPs
- Author and review geotechnical reports and engineering drawings
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget
- Mentor and support junior engineers and EITs
What We're Looking For - Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's degree considered an asset)
- 8-10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
- Minimum 2 years of local British Columbia experience
- Demonstrated expertise in temporary shoring design, foundation design, and seismic/geotechnical assessments
- Experience managing projects, multiple deliverables, and deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Registered P.Eng. with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC)
- Valid driver's license and ability to attend project sites as required
Experience with water retention structures and dam safety would be considered an asset.
