About the role:
Our client are seeking an experienced, site-based Health & Safety Advisor to support a highprofile residential construction project. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are maintained throughout all phases of the build. This role is suited to a proactive safety professional with strong principal contractor experience across commercial and residential construction environments.
Location: Initially based from London office with travel to Henley-on-Thames. Opportunity to relocate to a major London project when works commence. (Option for full-time Henley-on-Thames–based candidate.)
Key Responsibilities
• Provide day-to-day health and safety support on active construction sites.
• Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation, company policies, and industry best practice.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Support site management teams in implementing safe systems of work. • Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, and produce detailed reports.
• Deliver toolbox talks, briefings, and safety training as required.
• Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.
• Liaise with subcontractors, site teams, and external stakeholders to promote a positive safety culture.
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Site Safety Officer or Health & Safety Advisor working for a Principal Contractor.
• Proven experience on commercial and residential construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of current UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills.
• Relevant health and safety qualifications Desirable
• Experience working on large-scale or high-value projects.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple site priorities.
