With a strong pipeline of secured work and a commitment to maintaining the highest Health & Safety standards, they are looking to strengthen their HSEQ team with the appointment of an experienced Health & Safety Advisor.
About the Role:Based from the company's head office in Bridgend, you will support projects across
South Wales and the West of England, working closely with site teams to ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures. This is a site-focused role, providing practical support, guidance and advice to operational teams while promoting a proactive safety culture across multiple RC Frame construction projects.
About the Responsibilities: - Carry out regular Health & Safety inspections and audits across live construction sites.
- Provide practical Health & Safety advice and guidance to site management, subcontractors and operatives.
- Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and monitor safe systems of work.
- Support the investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and Health & Safety briefings.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance and ensure works are carried out in accordance with company procedures and current legislation.
- Work closely with project teams to identify risks and implement effective control measures.
- Promote a positive Health & Safety culture across all sites.
- Produce inspection reports and maintain accurate Health & Safety records.
- Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act, CDM Regulations and all relevant industry standards.
About the Requirements: - Previous experience as a Health & Safety Advisor within the RC Frame construction sector is essential.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and UK Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and accident investigations.
- Confident reviewing RAMS and advising on high-risk construction activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence site teams at all levels.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to challenge unsafe behaviours where necessary.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across South Wales and the West of England.
- IOSH membership, SMSTS or additional Health & Safety qualifications would be advantageous.
