About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented
Junior Accountant to join our clients growing finance team. This role is ideal for someone with
1–2 years of accounting experience who wants to develop their skills in a fast-paced
construction environment, with a strong emphasis on
Accounts Payable processes.
Key Responsibilitie
Accounts Payable - Process vendor invoices, purchase orders, and payment runs accurately and on time
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain organized AP records and ensure compliance with company policies
Expense & Cost Tracking - Assist with job costing and coding expenses to the correct projects
- Verify expense reports for accuracy and policy compliance
Month-End & Reporting Support - Prepare AP accruals and assist with general ledger reconciliations
- Support month-end closing activities and financial statement preparation
Tax Filings & Compliance - Assist with GST/PST submissions and remittances
General Accounting Support - Provide backup coverage for Accounts Receivable as needed
- Support the finance team with ad hoc reporting and administrative duties
Qualifications - Education: Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience: 1–2 years of accounting experience (construction industry experience an asset)
Technical Skills:
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables preferred)
- Experience with accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, or similar)
Soft Skills:
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Team player with excellent communication skills
