SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER Civil Construction | Metro Vancouver / Lower Mainland, BC | $160,000 | Permanent, Full-Time THE OPPORTUNITY Our client is a well-established civil utility contractor with a strong pipeline of underground infrastructure projects across Metro Vancouver. They're looking for a Senior Project Manager who can take full ownership of project delivery — managing budgets, contracts, client relationships, and subcontractors from award through to closeout. This is a senior leadership role with real autonomy and a company that has the project volume to keep you busy year-round.
ABOUT OUR CLIENT A busy and well-regarded civil utility contractor operating across Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Delta, Coquitlam, and Port Coquitlam. Their core work is underground infrastructure — storm, sanitary, watermain, and site servicing — for municipal and private sector clients across the Lower Mainland. Known for a hands-on culture, experienced crews, and a consistent workload.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage civil construction projects end-to-end — from award through to final close-out
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts
Administer contracts, manage change orders, and oversee progress billing
Lead project meetings with clients, consultants, and municipal authorities
Coordinate directly with site superintendents and foremen to align field operations with project plan
Manage subcontractor and supplier agreements, procurement, and performance
Handle RFIs, submittals, and all project correspondence in a timely manner
Monitor and report on project costs, productivity, and financial performance
Identify and mitigate risks to schedule, budget, and quality
Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
WHAT YOU BRING
5+ years of project management experience in civil construction — underground utilities, municipal infrastructure, or site servicing
Demonstrated track record delivering projects on time and on budget in the Lower Mainland market
Strong contract administration skills — municipal contract experience preferred
Proficient in MS Project, Bluebeam, Procore, or equivalent PM tools
Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management preferred
PMP or Gold Seal certification an asset
Strong communication and client-facing skills — comfortable managing up and down simultaneously
Local BC market knowledge and established relationships with municipal clients an advantage
