Junior Controller / Controller (Construction)
Location: Burnaby / Vancouver, BC
Reporting to: CFO
Salary: Salary + Benefits + RRSP

A well-established and growing construction and development business operating across the Lower Mainland. With approximately 500 employees, the company delivers complex projects across multiple service lines and is continuing to scale its operations.
 
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact role working directly with the CFO, taking ownership of core financial reporting, project accounting, and forecasting.
You'll play a key role in building structure, improving visibility, and supporting decision-making as the business grows.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and projections
• Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts and financial models
• Oversee job costing across multiple construction projects
• Manage and track schedule of values (SOV) and project financial performance
• Prepare and analyze:
  • Balance Sheet (BS)
  • Profit & Loss (P&L)
  • Quarterly reports
  • Monthly reporting packages
• Support preliminary financials / proformas for projects and developments
• Work closely with operations to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting
• Liaise with and oversee the external bookkeeping function
• Assist with process improvements and strengthening internal controls

What You Bring

• 5+ years of accounting/finance experience (construction experience highly preferred)
• Strong understanding of:
  • Job costing
  • Project-based accounting
  • Financial reporting
• Experience within a growing or mid-sized business
• Advanced Excel / financial modelling skills
• CPA (or working towards) is an asset
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
