Quantity Surveyor - Commercial Flooring Specialist
About the Role We are seeking a skilled and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with specialist experience in flooring packages to join our growing team. This role involves managing the financial and contractual aspects of flooring projects across the commercial, residential, and retail sectors—ensuring cost-effective delivery while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

About the Role We are seeking a skilled and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with specialist experience in flooring packages to join our growing team. This role involves managing the financial and contractual aspects of flooring projects across the commercial, residential, and retail sectors—ensuring cost-effective delivery while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all commercial and contractual activities for flooring projects (e.g., vinyl, timber, resin, carpet, tiles, etc.)
- Take off quantities and prepare accurate cost estimates and bills of quantities
- Prepare and submit interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Procure subcontractors, negotiate rates, and manage payment processes
- Evaluate project risks and support contract negotiation
- Track project costs, margins, and cash flows against budget
- Provide regular commercial reports to senior management
- Liaise with clients, site teams, and suppliers to ensure alignment on scope and commercial terms
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions (JCT, NEC, etc.) and company procedures
- Minimum 3 years’ QS experience, ideally within flooring or specialist subcontracting
- In-depth knowledge of flooring materials, installation methods, and finishes
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Familiarity with tendering processes, cost plans, and procurement strategies
- Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and QS software (e.g., Bluebeam, Measure, ConQuest)
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities
- Full UK driving licence (travel to site may be required)
