Senior Civil Engineer - Land Development & Municipal Engineering

A well-established, multi-disciplinary consulting firm is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their Edmonton office, with a strong focus on subdivisions and private site development projects.
 
This is a key technical and leadership role within the civil team, offering the opportunity to lead complex land development projects and play a major role in delivering urban growth and infrastructure across the region.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of land development and subdivision projects
• Oversee civil engineering design for private site developments, including commercial and industrial sites
• Manage grading, servicing, stormwater, sanitary, and water distribution systems
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior/intermediate engineers and designers
• Coordinate with municipalities, utility companies, and regulatory authorities
• Lead and support development approvals and permitting processes (City of Edmonton and surrounding municipalities)
• Conduct site inspections and provide construction phase support and contract administration
• Work closely with internal multi-disciplinary teams including planning, surveying, and environmental disciplines
• Ensure compliance with local standards, codes, and best engineering practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• Registered P.Eng. in Alberta (APEGA)
• Minimum 10 years of civil engineering experience
• Strong, proven experience in:
  • Land development
  • Subdivision design and delivery
  • Private site / industrial / commercial development
• Strong knowledge of Edmonton and Alberta municipal standards and approval processes
• Proficiency in Civil 3D or similar design tools
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
