Senior Civil Engineer (Chartered) – Building Projects – Inside the Boundary
I have an exceptional opportunity with a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy of around 50+ professionals delivering civil & structural engineering services across Melbourne. Their work focuses on complex inner-urban building projects where practical, buildable design and strong coordination are essential.
They are seeking a Senior Chartered Civil Engineer with significant experience in building-related civil works to take a leading role in the delivery of inner Melbourne & Regional Victoria development projects.
The Role:
You will lead and contribute to the design and delivery of civil engineering components across a range of constrained urban building projects. This includes working closely with architects, developers, authorities, and internal engineering disciplines to deliver coordinated and efficient outcomes.
Projects typically involve low to medium-sized developments across Commercial, Industrial, Hospitality and government/public infrastructure projects within established urban environments (“inside the boundary” work), requiring strong technical capability and confident stakeholder management.

Key Requirements:
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng, NER, PE or equivalent)
- 12–20 years’ experience in civil engineering, focused on building projects
- Strong experience delivering and designing inner-urban / constrained site developments
- Proficiency in 12D Model or Autodesk Civil 3D (essential)
- Strong capability in stormwater, drainage design, earthworks, and service coordination
- Experience liaising with councils, water authorities, and utility providers
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical delivery
- Proven ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams
