SSA is currently recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a leading specialist Steel Contractor delivering large-scale structural steel and fabrication projects across Ireland and the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial professional to join a well-established contractor with a strong reputation across Commercial, Industrial, Pharmaceutical, Infrastructure, and Data Centre sectors.

About the role:

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial management of multiple structural steel projects from tender stage through to final account.

This position can be fully remote for the right candidate, with occasional travel for meetings or site visits where required.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Managing the commercial delivery of structural steel and fabrication projects
• Preparing valuations, variations, cost reports, and final accounts
• Reviewing contracts and identifying commercial risks
• Managing subcontractor and supplier accounts
• Assisting with procurement and tender evaluations
• Monitoring project costs, budgets, and forecasts
• Liaising with project managers, clients, and design teams
• Supporting dispute resolution and contract administration processes
• Identifying value engineering opportunities and cost-saving measures

Position requirements:

• Previous experience in a Senior QS or Quantity Surveyor position
• Experience working within structural steel, fabrication, or specialist subcontracting preferred
• Strong contractual and commercial knowledge
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• High level of commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar preferred
