Job Description

Our client, a leading civil construction company in Vancouver, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Superintendent to join their team.
 
The Superintendent will oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Supervision: Coordinate and supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and schedules.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor site personnel, including foremen, laborers, and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and safety-focused work environment.
• Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
• Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating with project managers to ensure timely resource allocation and task completion.
• Quality Control: Monitor work quality to ensure compliance with company standards and client expectations, addressing any issues promptly.
• Budget Management: Assist in managing project budgets by monitoring expenses and resource utilization, providing regular reports to management.
• Client Relations: Maintain effective communication with clients, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within the civil construction industry.
• Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
