Purpose of Position:
The Superintendent will report to the Project Manager and assist with decision making authority for all aspects of the project.  You will be part of the team that reports to the director for project performance, including costs, schedule, quality, project status and adherence to company policies and programs; ensures project profitability, schedule adherence, safety and customer satisfaction; fosters relationships with all project stakeholders to further business development. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of detailed work plans and narratives for submission to client for review and approval. Review and prepare responses to client comments to submissions.
  • Assist in the overall planning and scheduling of project including reporting and monitoring – Monitor the overall progress of the project on an ongoing basis and take corrective action where necessary.
  • Manage and prioritize the project budget – Prepare budgets, forecasts and reduce risk through managing scope and contract change.
  • Analyse and prepare subcontracts, purchase order agreements, and cost control budgets
  • Ensure that Company policies and procedures are followed in all aspects of project execution.
  • Ensure all scope and contract changes are submitted and approved by the customer.
  • Manage performance and delivery of sub-contractors.

Required Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in a related field of study such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Contract Management or Project Management.
  • Minimum 2 years of related project or contract management experience in heavy civils environment. Minimum 2 references are required from your previous employment. References can be your direct supervisor or senior colleagues.
  • Proficiency with common business and construction software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6.
  • Strong civil knowledge and experience with estimating, project coordinator and management
  • Able to work effectively and accurately in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as a team
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic with an attention to detail
