Location: Surrey / Langley, BC
Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 + benefits
 
About the Company

A growing civil excavation and siteworks contractor delivering projects across the Lower Mainland, specializing in underground utilities, earthworks, roadworks, and full site servicing.

The Opportunity

This is a high-impact role where you'll take ownership of tendering and pricing multiple civil projects at once. You'll play a key part in winning work, shaping project strategy, and supporting delivery teams post-award.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and bid submissions from drawings, specifications, and tender documents
  • Perform quantity take-offs and detailed pricing for civil works (utilities, excavation, roadworks, site servicing)
  • Review and interpret civil drawings and blueprints
  • Attend site visits and pre-tender walkthroughs
  • Manage and track purchase orders and subcontractor pricing
  • Price and manage change orders and project variations
  • Liaise with project managers, site teams, and clients throughout project lifecycle
  • Collaborate with leadership on upcoming opportunities and bid strategy
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Support project execution and cost control after successful bids
  • Ensure all estimates meet deadlines, accuracy, and profitability targets
Requirements
  • 3+ years' experience in civil construction estimating (excavation/siteworks preferred)
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Underground utilities (storm, sanitary, water)
    • Earthworks, grading, and roadworks
  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and tender documents
  • Experience with bid/tender processes
  • Proficiency in Excel, MS Project, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Valid driver's license and ability to attend sites
  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar (preferred)
