I am seeking a Senior Engineer on behalf of a highly reputable Contractor for a new €30m project in Kilkenny, which they will be commencing in the coming weeks.
The company in question are a forward thinking, progressive company who are going through a major growth phase. They have a strong portfolio of ongoing and planned projects, and are soon commencing works on a €30m project in Kilkenny. The project has a substantial civils/externals package, and they are looking for someone to come in and manage that package, reporting into the Project Manager and Contracts Manager.
The company have a lot of work in the pipeline so this is a permanent, long-term position with the company.
Your main duties will include, but not be limited to;
As Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the externals/civils packages are completed to cost, programme, quality, and safety standards.
- Liaising with Project Manager, site personnel, commercial team, design team, and other relevant personnel
- Manage and coordinate installation the civils package, working in coordination with the wider site team
- Ensure the effective day to day running of site activities
- Ensure compliance with programme, materials deliveries, and design, quality and safety issues.
- Ensure sub-contractors and site operatives are working to current drawings and specifications
- Attend scheduled progress team meetings to discuss project progress against milestones
- Attend meetings with client as necessary
- Ensure compliance with all relevant technical aspects within construction industry standards and local authorities’ requirements if applicable
- To ensure that all health, safety and welfare obligations associated with the project delivery are met.
To be successful in your application you will possess the following;
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering/Construction Management
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Engineer/Supervisor on civils projects
- IT literate
- Proficient in MS Project or other similar programming software (desirable but not essential)
- Motivated individual with excellent negotiation/communication skills,
- A positive, “can do” approach, determined to succeed
