About the Opportunity Our client is a well-established General Contractor specializing in Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) construction projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join their construction team. This individual will play a key role in delivering high-quality projects across commercial, institutional, healthcare, retail, and industrial sectors.
Responsibilities - Perform general carpentry duties on ICI construction projects.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and layouts.
- Complete framing, blocking, backing, drywall support, doors, hardware installation, and finishing carpentry tasks.
- Construct temporary structures, hoarding, protection systems, and site installations.
- Install millwork, trim, and architectural finishes as required.
- Assist with concrete formwork and site preparation activities when required.
- Coordinate with Site Superintendents, Project Managers, subcontractors, and other trades.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, building codes, and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in site safety meetings and adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications - Minimum 3+ years of carpentry experience within the ICI construction sector.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience working on commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, or retail projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
- Knowledge of Ontario Building Code requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the GTA as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Red Seal Carpenter Certification.
- Journeyperson Carpenter designation.
- Working at Heights Certification.
- WHMIS Certification.
- First Aid/CPR Certification.
- Experience working on occupied or live environments such as hospitals, schools, offices, or retail facilities.
Compensation & Benefits - $85,000 - 120,000
