Electrical Designer

Our client, a well-established consulting engineering firm, is seeking an Electrical Designer to join their growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of building and infrastructure projects from concept through construction while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and management of assigned projects throughout all phases, including planning, design, tendering, and construction administration.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of electrical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, architectural, and structural disciplines to ensure drawing accuracy, integrity, and completeness.
  • Collaborate with project teams and Project Managers to deliver projects on schedule and within scope.
  • Escalate project resource concerns to the appropriate Project Manager when required.
  • Review architectural and structural drawings and incorporate design requirements into electrical plans.
  • Respond to contractor and client technical inquiries throughout project execution.
  • Provide technical and administrative support through all phases of project delivery.
  • Participate in site investigations, inspections, and construction reviews as required.
  • Support the development and maintenance of strong client relationships.
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of project documentation and deliverables.
  • Work additional hours as required to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant electrical engineering or electrical design experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Currently pursuing Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.
  • Experience preparing construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Familiarity with bid preparation, tendering, and contract administration processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Experience working directly with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in site investigations and construction review is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary of $65,000 - $95,000, based on experience and qualifications.
