Job Posting: Construction Estimator – ICI Construction (Ontario)
 
I am representing my client, a well-established ICI construction company, in their search for a Construction Estimator to join their team in the GTA. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with experience in estimating institutional, commercial, and industrial (ICI) construction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for ICI construction projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and contracts to determine scope and requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop comprehensive bid proposals.
• Identify and assess potential project risks and provide cost-effective solutions.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, material costs, and construction methodologies.
• Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
• Ensure all estimates align with project budgets and company financial objectives.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator in ICI construction.
• Must have local Ontario experience and a strong understanding of regional construction practices.
• Proficiency in estimation software such as Planswift, Bluebeam, OST, or similar tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines effectively.
• Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Location:

• Candidate must be based in Ontario with familiarity in estimating projects within the region.
