Job Posting: Construction Estimator – ICI Construction (Ontario)
I am representing my client, a well-established ICI construction company, in their search for a Construction Estimator to join their team in the GTA. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with experience in estimating institutional, commercial, and industrial (ICI) construction projects.
Responsibilities: - Prepare accurate cost estimates for ICI construction projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and contracts to determine scope and requirements.
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop comprehensive bid proposals.
- Identify and assess potential project risks and provide cost-effective solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, material costs, and construction methodologies.
- Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
- Ensure all estimates align with project budgets and company financial objectives.
Requirements: - Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator in ICI construction.
- Must have local Ontario experience and a strong understanding of regional construction practices.
- Proficiency in estimation software such as Planswift, Bluebeam, OST, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines effectively.
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Location: - Candidate must be based in Ontario with familiarity in estimating projects within the region.
