Job Title: Financial Controller - Barrie

About the Role - Full-time Financial Controller overseeing all accounting and finance functions for a local civil and materials contractor with 3 different operations
- Works closely with the VP and President in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
- Mix of day-to-day accounting, financial leadership, and special projects.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and support the accounting/finance team.
- Oversee a small team of finance professionals.
- Prepare monthly interim financial statements.
- Develop annual budgets and perform regular variance analysis.
- Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and KPIs; highlight risks and opportunities.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls.
- Reconcile bank accounts, intercompany accounts, HST, and other government remittances.
- Prepare year-end working papers for external accountants.
- Recommend improvements to financial processes and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications - CPA designation required.
- 2-3 years of experience in related industries would be an asset (construction preferred)
- Strong computer skills; experience with Jonas and QuickBooks is an asset.
- Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
