Mechanical Estimator

About the Client
Our client is an established mechanical contractor delivering building services projects across Bristol and the South West. They are looking for a Mechanical Estimator to join their pre-construction team.

About the Role
You will prepare accurate and competitive estimates for mechanical packages, reviewing technical information, developing costs and coordinating quotations from the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings and specifications
• Complete mechanical take-offs and detailed estimates
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Build labour, material, plant and subcontract costs
• Identify tender risks, exclusions and value-engineering options
• Prepare tender summaries and project handover information
• Attend tender meetings and respond to clarifications
• Liaise with clients, consultants and operational teams
• Maintain accurate estimating and cost records

Skills and Experience

• Mechanical estimating experience within building services
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, pipework and mechanical systems
• Ability to read drawings and technical specifications
• Good commercial, numerical and analytical skills
• Strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
• Organised approach and ability to meet tender deadlines
