PROJECT MANAGER / ESTIMATOR — or — ESTIMATING COORDINATOR (Development Path)Heavy Civil Infrastructure | Vancouver, BC | Permanent, Full-Time THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is open to two types of candidates for this role — and that flexibility is intentional. They're looking for either an experienced PM/Estimator who can step in and contribute across both project delivery and bid development, or a sharp Project Coordinator who's ready to spend the next 12-18 months learning the estimating function from the ground up alongside a highly experienced team. If you've been looking for a way into estimating and you have the right civil construction foundation, this is a rare opportunity to make that move.
ABOUT OUR CLIENT A well-respected, Vancouver-based heavy civil infrastructure contractor that self-performs the majority of their work. Their portfolio spans roads and highways, bridges and structures, excavation and shoring, underground utilities, marine and environmental works, and hydroelectric and energy infrastructure, across BC and beyond. This is a technically sophisticated team with high standards and serious project experience. They invest in their people and have a track record of developing careers internally. THE ROLE — TWO PATHWAYS Path A — PM / Estimator You've been around civil construction long enough to understand both the office and the field. You can price work and manage it. You're comfortable running a tender and running a project. You don't need hand-holding — you need a strong team and a solid pipeline to work with.
Path B — Estimating Coordinator (Development) You're a Project Coordinator or junior PM with 2-4 years in civil construction. You're organized, technically minded, and genuinely curious about how projects get priced and won. You're ready to commit to a year in the estimating seat — learning quantity take-offs, pricing, bid strategy, and subcontractor management — with the goal of becoming a full estimator.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES PM / Estimator (Path A):
