About the Client
Our client is an established M&E contractor delivering mechanical, electrical and public health packages across a range of construction projects. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

About the Role
Working alongside the Senior Commercial Manager, you will support the commercial and cost management of multiple M&E projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their commercial career who wants to develop practical experience across procurement, valuations, cost control, variations and subcontractor management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the procurement and commercial evaluation of subcontractors, suppliers and consultants
  • Support the preparation of subcontract documentation, Bills of Quantities and tender comparisons
  • Complete measurements and take-offs of mechanical and electrical services from drawings and specifications
  • Assist with interim valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of Cost Value Reconciliations
  • Identify, record and commercially assess project changes
  • Assist with subcontractor, consultant, supplier and labour-only payments
  • Draft commercial correspondence for review
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date commercial records
  • Work closely with site teams to support project delivery
  • Attend design, procurement, commercial and site meetings
  • Provide general commercial support across multiple projects
  • Follow all company procedures and health and safety requirements
Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience within construction or M&E contracting is desirable
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical installations
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Organised, commercially aware and able to work effectively within a team
  • Keen to learn and develop within an M&E commercial environment
