Senior Building Systems Field Engineer

An immediate-start Senior Building Systems Field Engineer job with a pioneering smart building technology company, surveying commercial buildings across Germany.
We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Building Systems Field Engineer on behalf of a leading smart building / building automation technology company. This is a fantastic job opportunity for a Senior Building Systems Field Engineer looking to play a hands-on role in cutting-edge digital twin and building controls projects.
The Role
18-month fixed-term contract with strong scope for extension and eventual conversion to permanent. You will independently survey commercial buildings across Germany, documenting HVAC, hydronic, and BMS installations to give engineering teams accurate field data for controls design and digital twin development. Immediate start; short or no notice period preferred.
Key Responsibilities
▸ Perform detailed site surveys of mechanical and electrical systems in commercial buildings
▸ Identify and document HVAC equipment: AHUs, FCUs, heat pumps, chilled water, district heating, VAV/CAV
▸ Verify as-built documentation against the actual installation and flag discrepancies
▸ Trace field wiring and hydronic distribution between equipment, electrical panels, and control panels
▸ Photograph equipment and mark up floor plans, equipment lists, and system diagrams
▸ Liaise with facility managers, contractors, and building operators on site
What You'll Bring
▸ Hands-on BMS/controls experience (Siemens, Priva, Sauter, Honeywell, Trend, Schneider or similar) - essential
▸ Fluent German AND English - both required
▸ Proven ability to survey sites independently - essential
▸ Willingness to travel across Germany - essential
▸ Beneficial: Elektrofachkraft qualification, multimeter/electrical testing experience, strong hydronics knowledge

▸ Salary: €78k - €102k
▸ Location: Germany, nationwide travel
