Our client: Specialises in groundwork and RC frames are recruiting a Payroll Assistant to provide support to the Payroll Department at their head office based in Northolt. This is a brilliant opportunity to join their growing business and career progression.
The role: The payroll assistant will work closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure the smooth running of the weekly and monthly payroll. Our client currently runs approximately 1000 weekly payrolls across numerous construction sites throughout London and South East and so we are looking for someone who is speedy yet always accurate.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Processing payroll on a weekly basis for approximately 1,000 Sub-Contractors.
- Verifying hours and getting them authorised by the Director’s prior to payment.
- Processing documentation for new starters and leavers
- Carrying out Home Office Right to Work.
- Verifying Sub-Contractors with HMRC to obtain the relevant tax treatment.
- Updating and maintaining HR and payroll records
- Resolving any payroll queries in a timely and efficient manner.
- Updating rates and salaries as per instruction
- Keeping up to date with all government guidelines and legislations regarding payroll and new employees.
- Keeping up to date with HMRC legislation
- Liaising with workers and government bodies with earnings enquiries and attachment of earnings orders.
- Processing both manual and holiday payments.
- General AD Hoc duties
The successful candidate will have:
- A good general knowledge of all payroll aspects and EXCEL
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, with keen eye to detail
- Self-motivation and the ability to adapt to the new role requirements with ease
- Proactive and flexible approach, with a willingness to undertake all tasks required of the role
- Professional telephone manner
- The ability to multitask
