Lead Quality Assurance Manager – RC Frame – London – £75k
About the Company: A leading RC Frame/Groundworks contractor which has been an established name in industry now for over 25yrs, currently turnover £160m and works on projects to the value of £40m.
About the Role: My client is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to oversee their Integrated Quality Management System and support their project portfolio, initially across the RC & Civils Business with a view to extend to a Group role. You will be the lead for the quality assurance team and will report directly to the Group HSEQ Director. This is an excellent opportunity to work with an award-winning contractor and be involved in a range of landmark schemes.
Role & Responsibilities:
As QA Manager you will be responsible for managing the IQMS in line with our business objectives and existing certification – which includes UKAS accredited ISO Management systems for Quality, Sustainability & Environment and Health & Safety. The role will work closely with the Health Safety & Well Being and Sustainability Leads.
The role will cover the usual compliance and auditing arrangements as well as internal and third-party inspection and test regimes. A key aspect of the position will be supporting the business in achieving and maintaining our various external accreditations including:
- Achilles Building Confidence
- RISQS
- ISO 9001, 14001, 45001
- Various SSIP & PQQ submissions
This is also seen as a leadership role; finding practical solutions to drive innovation, refine and improve company processes and procedures, as well as representing the business to their clients & stakeholders.
The role will support various company departments to progressing their digital systems and aspirations, working closely with their design and construction teams to cover the following:
- Process Mapping & Process automation
- Business Risk Workshops
- Integrated Management Systems
- Management Reviews and Risk Based approaches
A key aspect of the QA Manager Role will be to work closely with the Engineering Lead to support our site engineering corps. This will support their key operational delivery and compliance requirements, including non-conformance and root cause analysis, as well as our wider competence and training needs, trend analysis and strategy development.
They are keen to employ someone that is autonomous, meticulous in their work, digitally proficient, and passionate for continual improvement. They will need an excellent approach to building relationships, problem solving, identifying and implementing opportunities, and supporting operational delivery is essential.
They have recently expanded our Group of companies to include demolition and piling capability. We envisage this role being closely involved in the planned integration of our management systems and working towards a Group certification for the IQMS, to the extent that this becomes a Group Assurance role.
Qualifications:
- They are looking for someone that understands the sector and the quality control requirements.
- An engineering background is preferred with at least 5 years’ experience in quality assurance within reinforced concrete frame and substructure construction.
- A Lead/Internal auditor qualification is required, holding or eligible to apply for IRCA certification.
- You must also hold a valid CSCS card.
