Our client is a well-established construction company looking for an experienced, CPA-designated Accountant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a construction finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced project environment and wants to play a key role in a growing organization.


About the Role
Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for the full cycle of accounting operations, with a strong focus on construction project financials. You will work closely with project managers and site teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and support sound business decisions.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle accounting including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Oversee job costing, budget tracking, and project financial reporting
  • Monitor WIP (work-in-progress) schedules and percentage-of-completion accounting
  • Prepare GST/HST filings and ensure compliance with CRA requirements
  • Assist with year-end preparation and liaise with external auditors
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls
  • Support senior leadership with financial forecasting and cash flow management
What They're Looking For
  • Active CPA designation (required)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of job costing and project-based accounting
  • Proficiency with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage, Procore, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of Canadian tax compliance and reporting requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
