Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
About the Company
A well-established drylining subcontractor delivering partitions, ceilings, and SFS packages on commercial and residential projects across London. Known for strong tier-1 main contractor relationships and a growing project pipeline.
Role Overview
We're looking for a Designer to join the technical team, producing detailed drylining and partition drawings from architect's intent through to construction-ready output. You'll work closely with the estimating, procurement, and site delivery teams to ensure designs are buildable, compliant, and aligned with programme.
Key Responsibilities
  • Produce GA drawings, setting-out drawings, and detail drawings for drylining, partitions, ceilings, and SFS systems
  • Interpret architect's and structural engineer's information (RIBA/tier-1 drawings) and develop into construction-ready packages
  • Coordinate with M&E and structural design teams to resolve clashes
  • Ensure designs meet relevant fire, acoustic, and building regulation requirements
  • Liaise with manufacturers (e.g. British Gypsum, Knauf, Siniat) on system specifications and details
  • Support the estimating team with take-offs and technical queries during tender
  • Attend design team meetings and site coordination meetings as required
  • Manage drawing registers and revision control (CDE)
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Designer/Design Technician within a drylining, partitions, or interior fit-out subcontractor
  • Proficient in AutoCAD (Revit/BIM experience highly desirable)
  • Strong working knowledge of SFS, GRG, and drylining systems
  • Understanding of fire and acoustic performance requirements for partition/ceiling systems
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
  • Good communication skills — comfortable liaising with clients, main contractors, and site teams
  • CSCS card (desirable)
What's on Offer
  • Competitive salary + benefits
  • Genuine progression within a growing technical team
  • Involvement in high-profile commercial and residential projects across London
