General Foreman - Formwork & Concrete Construction

Salary
$100,000 - $120,000 per year + Bonus + Benefits
Compensation will be commensurate with experience, project portfolio, and leadership responsibilities.
 
About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established concrete and formwork contractor delivering complex Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) construction projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area. They are seeking an experienced General Foreman to lead field operations and oversee formwork and concrete activities on major construction projects.
 
This role is ideal for a proven construction leader who can manage multiple crews, coordinate daily operations, drive productivity, and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all formwork and concrete operations on active project sites.
• Coordinate daily activities of foremen, lead hands, subcontractors, and field crews.
• Plan manpower, equipment, and material requirements to maintain project schedules.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Monitor productivity, quality control, and project performance.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and Ontario health and safety regulations.
• Conduct toolbox talks, site meetings, and safety briefings.
• Resolve field issues and coordinate solutions with project management.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, consultants, and clients.
• Mentor and develop foremen and crew members.
• Maintain site documentation and progress reports.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in formwork and concrete construction.
• Previous experience as a General Foreman, Senior Foreman, or equivalent leadership role.
• Strong understanding of formwork systems, reinforced concrete structures, and concrete placement procedures.
• Experience leading large field crews on ICI construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Thorough knowledge of Ontario construction safety requirements.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Experience

• Large-scale commercial, institutional, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Cast-in-place concrete structures.
• Parking structures, industrial facilities, hospitals, schools, and mid/high-rise developments.
• Experience in both unionized and non-union construction environments.
