Job Description – Pre‑Construction Manager Location: Central London

Overview A leading specialist contractor delivering complex infrastructure, RC frame and demolition projects across Central London is seeking an experienced

Pre‑Construction Manager to lead all front‑end activities across major tenders and early‑stage project development. This role is central to shaping methodologies, influencing design, and securing high‑value work in one of the most challenging urban construction environments in the UK.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the full pre‑construction process across infrastructure, RC frame and demolition tenders
  • Develop build methodologies, sequencing strategies, logistics plans and technical narratives
  • Coordinate internal teams including estimating, planning, design, commercial and delivery
  • Review tender documentation, identify risks/opportunities and propose innovative solutions
  • Manage design development during pre‑con, including temporary works and buildability reviews
  • Prepare and deliver tender presentations to clients, consultants and JV partners
  • Work closely with the commercial team to ensure competitive, compliant and compelling bids
  • Oversee multiple tenders simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
  • Build strong relationships with clients, supply chain partners and internal stakeholders
  • Support handover to delivery teams to ensure a smooth transition into construction
  
Experience & Skills Required
  • Proven experience in a Pre‑Construction Manager or Senior Pre‑Construction role
  • Strong background in civils, infrastructure, RC frame or demolition projects
  • Excellent understanding of buildability, sequencing, temporary works and logistics
  • Ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams through complex tender processes
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of contract requirements
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence clients and stakeholders
  • Experience working on major projects typically ranging from £10m to £100m+
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and competing deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong technical writing skills and ability to produce high‑quality tender submissions
