Location: Mainland Europe (Netherlands / Germany / Denmark / Sweden) Department: Commercial / Civils Delivery
Travel: Rotation or long‑term assignment depending on project
  
�� Role Purpose The Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial delivery of civils & concrete packages on hyperscale data centre projects across Europe. The role covers cost control, NEC/FIDIC contract administration, subcontract management, and change control for high‑intensity, fast‑track DC environments. You’ll work closely with project teams delivering earthworks, utilities, RC foundations, external yards, and critical infrastructure civils.
  
��️ Key Responsibilities
  • Civils Cost Management — Manage budgets, cost forecasts, and cashflow for DC civils packages.
  • Measurement & Take‑Off — Produce accurate measurement from drawings, BIM models, and specifications for earthworks, drainage, RC, utilities, and external works.
  • Contract Administration — Administer NEC/FIDIC contracts, early warnings, CE/VO assessments, and payment mechanisms.
  • Subcontract Procurement — Prepare BOQs, tender packs, analyse bids, and support subcontract award decisions.
  • Valuations & Payments — Lead monthly valuations, progress assessments, and commercial reporting.
  • Change Control — Identify, price, and track variations driven by design changes, client instructions, and scope growth.
  • Risk & Opportunity — Support commercial risk reviews, mitigation strategies, and value‑engineering.
  • Stakeholder Coordination — Work with engineers, planners, client teams, and subcontractors to maintain commercial alignment.
  • Compliance & Reporting — Maintain cost trackers, dashboards, CVRs, and commercial governance documentation.
  
�� Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Construction Economics.
  • 3–7 years’ experience in civils, concrete, utilities, or infrastructure.
  • Experience on data centres, pharma, semiconductor, or other fast‑track industrial projects (preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 or FIDIC.
  • Proven experience managing civils subcontractors (earthworks, drainage, RC, utilities).
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and commercial reporting skills.
  • Ability to work on rotation or long‑term assignment in Europe.
  
�� Desirable Experience
  • Experience with UK/Irish civils contractors operating in Europe.
  • Exposure to hyperscale DC civils packages (formation, utilities, RC foundations, external yards).
  • Familiarity with digital measurement tools (CostX, Bluebeam, BIM‑based take‑off).
  • Understanding of European procurement rules and local subcontractor markets.
