SSA are working with a Tier 1 M&E Contractor seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for an ongoing data centre project in West Dublin
Senior Electrical Engineer Responsibilities In conjunction with your project team, you will be responsible for the execution of various stages of a project as follows:
Lead the coordination, review, and management of electrical design and technical documentation.
Provide technical leadership to engineers, subcontractors, and project teams.
Review technical submittals, RFIs, method statements, and commissioning documentation.
Coordinate electrical works and interfaces with mechanical, CSA, controls, and commissioning teams.
Lead the installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems.
Support automation and sequence of operations validation.
Identify and resolve technical issues to minimise programme and project impacts.
Monitor subcontractor performance, quality, compliance, and health & safety.
Maintain accurate project documentation, commissioning records, and handover packs.
Support value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
Promote high standards of health, safety, quality, compliance, and site housekeeping
Necessary requirement of the Senior Electrical Engineer:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
6+ years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer, ideally leading electrical packages on large-scale projects.
Proven experience in data centres, power generation, or other mission-critical environments.
Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, MV/LV distribution, installation, commissioning, and Design & Build.
Strong understanding of electrical commissioning and system integration.
Experience leading subcontractors and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
Strong problem-solving, organisational, communication, and planning skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
Experience with BMS, EPMS, PLCs, SCADA, automation, and electrical control systems is highly desirable.
Experience with MV controls, protection/interlocking strategies, and IEC 61850/GOOSE networking.
Hands-on commissioning experience with MV/LV systems, UPS, generators, and associated electrical equipment
