With a strong reputation within the mission-critical and advanced technology sectors, they are involved in some of the region's most significant infrastructure developments.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP/Data centre/CSA) to join a major project team in Blyth.
This position will play a key role in the commercial management of a high-value project, ensuring costs are effectively controlled, contractual obligations are met, and commercial performance is maximised throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements - Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of the project lifecycle
- Prepare, review, and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
- Lead the procurement process, including subcontractor selection, tendering, and contract negotiations
- Manage subcontractor accounts, including valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Monitor project costs and identify risks and opportunities to ensure financial control
- Support and collaborate with Project Managers, Package Managers, and site teams on cost management
- Ensure all contractual documentation is maintained and up to date
- Attend Commercial Meetings, Site Meetings, and Project Reviews
- Evaluate and process change orders and manage variations in line with contract requirements
- Prepare and submit interim valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
- Provide commercial advice and support to the wider project team
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms, conditions, and company procedures
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for senior management
- Proactively identify and resolve commercial and contractual issues
Skills & Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar discipline
- Minimum 8+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role, preferably within construction
- Strong experience managing commercial aspects of large-scale construction projects
- Proven track record in cost control, procurement, and contract administration
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and financial management skills
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial practices
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams
- High level of attention to detail and organisational skills
- Data centre, industrial, or mission-critical project experience is advantageous
