Senior Transportation Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer/Project Manager to join our office in Mississauga. We need a dynamic, skilled individual with excellent leadership abilities and a strong professional network in Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams for Class EA’s, preliminary and detailed designs, and oversee construction administration for transportation projects across Ontario.
  • Resource Management: Handle project resources, schedules, budgets, quality management, and risk assessments. Prepare and submit additional engineering fee requests for scope changes.
  • Documentation: Prepare design reports, coordinate drawing preparation, write contract specifications, tender documents, cost estimates, and applications for approvals.
  • Team Coordination: Mentor junior engineering staff, including CADD team members, and support design teams in process improvement and quality management.
  • Client Interaction: Liaise with clients, sub-consultants, approval authorities, project stakeholders, construction supervision staff, and contractors.
  • Proposal Preparation: Assist in preparing proposals for future transportation projects.
  • Project Oversight: Sign and seal project documents, including contract drawings.
  • Professional Engineer: P.Eng. licensed in Ontario with at least 10 years of relevant experience in a design office.
  • Expertise: Experience in planning, preliminary design, detailed design, and construction administration for highways, arterial and collector roads, local roads, and bike trails.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in cost estimating, quantity preparation, and specification writing.
  • Approval Track Record: Proven ability to gain approval for infrastructure designs from road authorities and environmental agencies.
  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects.
