CIVIL CONSTRUCTION SURVEYOR
Underground Utilities | Metro Vancouver / Lower Mainland, BC | $90,000 - $120,000 | Permanent, Full-Time


THE OPPORTUNITY
A well-regarded civil utility contractor in the Lower Mainland is looking to add an experienced Construction Surveyor to their team. With projects running across Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Delta, Coquitlam, and Port Coquitlam, they need someone who can hit the ground running — accurate, efficient, and comfortable working closely with operators and foremen on active underground utility sites.

A well-established civil utility contractor operating across Metro Vancouver, specialising in underground utility construction and civil infrastructure. Their work covers storm, sanitary, watermain installations, and site servicing for municipal and private sector clients. A team that takes pride in quality workmanship and doing the job right.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set grades, elevations, and linework for underground utilities and civil works
• Perform topographic surveys using total stations and GPS/RTK equipment
• Import and interpret CAD files for field layout
• Provide accurate grade and line control for operators and foremen
• Verify installations match project design and elevations
• Work directly alongside civil crews on active construction sites across the Lower Mainland

EQUIPMENT AND SKILLS

• Total Stations and GPS/RTK equipment for layout and site control
• Topographic surveying — Topcon systems preferred
• Interpreting CAD files and digital plans for field layout
• Site levels and theodolites for elevation and measurement verification

WHAT YOU BRING

• Hands-on surveying experience performing layout for underground utilities — storm, sanitary, and watermain
• Comfortable working closely with operators and foremen in a fast-paced civil construction environment
• Strong understanding that accurate survey layout keeps crews productive and prevents costly rework
• Able to adapt to changing site conditions and solve problems on the fly
• Experience with CAD files for field layout
• Valid BC driver's licence with a clean abstract
