Key Responsibilities As an Intermediate Structural Engineer, you will:
- Lead and contribute to the design and analysis of structural systems for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects.
- Prepare engineering calculations, detailed drawings, and technical specifications.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with design standards and project requirements.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Review and approve designs, ensuring they meet relevant codes, standards, and safety requirements.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and EITs.
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in structural engineering.
About You To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia or eligibility to obtain it.
- 5-8 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in a consulting environment.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or STAAD.Pro.
- Experience with drafting and modeling tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or Tekla.
- Strong knowledge of structural codes, standards, and regulations in British Columbia.
- Proven project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
- A valid driver’s license and availability to travel to project sites as needed.
