GIS Specialist – Autonomous Individual – Large Mining Infrastructure
My client based in Perth are well established experts in engineering geology, geomorphology and geotechnical engineering. Working on large scale mining projects, through innovation and cutting-edge methodologies and technologies, they are always looking for like minded individuals and those that are truly “best in class”.

About the role:
Focusing on geotechnical input to the development of new or extension of existing heavy haul networks (both road and rail), mine infrastructure including processing and harbour plant foundations, conveyors, pipelines, dams, slopes, airstrips and villages for large primary industry projects, we are looking for someone to provide expertise in relation to the analysis, design, programming, implementation, maintenance and support of geographical information systems.

This role is a great opportunity for someone looking to take a lead in the management of GIS for the company, working closely with our geotechnical team to meet project deliverables.

This role will include:
• Plan and set up GIS aspects of engineering geological investigations.
• Collate and manage data gathered during site investigations.
• Develop and maintain geotechnical databases for projects.
• Assist with management of GIS tools.
• Prepare plans, cross sections, geological models and logs.
• Preparation of geotechnical reports presenting results of investigations.

Key Requirements
• Relevant Tertiary qualifications and/or formal training in GIS.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in ArcGIS.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction.
• Ability to meet project deliverables and work
