RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide planning and development-related research and information to support the executive team in underwriting all prospective acquisitions;
• Manage the development process for projects through the creation and execution of entitlement strategies for zoning by-law amendments, site plan approvals, minor variances, and draft plan of condominium;
• Hire and manage a team of planning and development-related consultants specific to each project;
• Create and execute project-specific community engagement strategies and oversee negotiations with municipal planning staff, councilors, and community stakeholders;
• Manage the execution of all municipal requirements (agreements, etc.) during and after the entitlement process;
• As necessary in projects, after approvals are obtained, work closely with the construction team to ensure that all municipal requirements continue to be complied with during construction; and
• Proudly represent and contribute to our brand through active participation and leadership in programs and organizations in and out of the development industry.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree with a focus in urban and regional planning;
Registered Professional Planner (RPP) in OPPI is preferred.
Minimum 5 years of work experience in an urban planning and development setting, preferably in the City of Toronto.
Experience with and dedication to working as part of a team in or out of a leadership capacity;
Outstanding writing, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to multi-task, manage deadlines and thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment;
Entrepreneurial and comfortable thinking holistically and outside the box; and
Professional, responsible, and confident.
