Heavy Civil Construction Project Coordinator – Toronto
Job Description
- Review contract documents and create work packages which reflect all resources required
- Plan and schedule work according to available resources in order to meet client needs, prepare job sheets
- Manage day to day project operations and staff during parallel daytime and nighttime shifts as assigned
- Troubleshoot field issues on-site to maintain workflow & meet deliverables
- Coordinate with clients, suppliers & engineering staff to effectively communicate scope of work and equipment needed to complete jobs
- Order materials, track quantities and prepare quantity summaries for billing department
- Prepare job sheets for field staff.
- Ensure work is completed according to plans, standards and specifications
- Book and Schedule lane closures
- Review and submit shop drawings
- Review project sites, drawings and coordinate construction as necessary
- Co-ordinate services by sub-contractors
- Work with management to initiate change orders and negotiate price agreements
- Ensure claims process and timeframes for resolution specified in contracts are followed
- Help prepare/assess contractor Extension of Time requests;
- Coordinate Contractor’s Quality Control documentation and submissions
- Obtain and document data through the life of the contract to substantiate contractor’s progress and final payment certificates.
- Direct staff in recording work, completing surveys, obtaining cross sections and site specific information
- Obtain and maintain up to date and accurate utility locates
- Certify energy attenuators and barrier walls
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in the construction industry working as a coordinator is an asset
- Civil Technology/ Construction Management Program graduate or relevant construction industry experience will be considered
- Experience with MTO projects an asset
- Proficient with MS Office applications such as excel, word, outlook etc.
- Must have a clean driving record and a Valid G licence
- Able to multi task and sustain productivity over long hours in a fast paced environment.
- Previous supervisory experience is an asset
