Position: Assistant Site Superintendent
 
Location: Greater Toronto Area and Central Ontario
 
Salary: $80,000 - 100,000
 
SSA Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Assistant Site Superintendent to join their growing construction team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional looking to work on institutional and infrastructure projects while supporting the successful delivery of complex projects throughout the GTA and Central Ontario.
 
Responsibilities
Working closely with the Site Superintendent, Project Manager, and project team, your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the day-to-day management of on-site construction activities.
• Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project schedule.
• Monitoring site productivity and workforce performance to maintain project milestones.
• Preparing and maintaining two-week look-ahead schedules and progress reports.
• Ensuring construction activities comply with project drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Coordinating field engineering activities and supporting daily site operations.
• Inspecting workmanship and materials to ensure quality requirements are achieved.
• Assisting with project scheduling, logistics planning, and site coordination.
• Supporting the implementation and enforcement of all site health and safety policies and procedures.
• Maintaining accurate site documentation and communicating project updates with the project team.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

• Previous experience as an Assistant Site Superintendent, Site Coordinator, or Field Coordinator within the construction industry.
• Experience working on institutional, commercial, civil, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, site logistics, and quality control.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, subcontractors, consultants, and owners.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
• A proactive attitude with a passion for construction and project delivery.

Candidates with previous experience on institutional and infrastructure projects within Ontario will be given preference.
