About the Role
Our client are seeking an experienced and proactive EHS Campus Manager to lead Environmental, Health & Safety performance across major Data Centre and Life Sciences projects.
Based in the UK, this role will primarily support domestic operations while also providing occasional support across European projects when required.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving a best-in-class safety culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and standards, and supporting the successful delivery of large-scale mission-critical construction projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, clients, and senior leadership teams to ensure exceptional EHS performance across all stages of the project lifecycle.
This opportunity would suit an adaptable and solutions-focused EHS professional who is comfortable operating within fast-paced construction environments and is flexible to travel within Europe on occasion.
Key Responsibilities
•Demonstrate exceptional H&S leadership at a campus level by your beliefs and behaviours
•Provide support and direction to the Campus Project Director and Project Manager
•Be the interface with the Campus Client and/or their representatives for H&S matters
•Lead and provide line management to a team (2-4) of Campus based H&S Managers
•Assist Head of H&S and Business Unit H&S Manger in roll out of company Strategy
•Ensure consistent implementation of company standards, procedures, policies and expectations; including identifying variances and equivalents needed due to working outside Ireland / UK
•Ensure workplaces receive Health Checks, Inspections and Risk Reviews at specified frequencies and with intrusiveness in accordance with Policy and Direction. Raise “at risk” / early intervention concerns to Head of H&S and Business Unit H&S Manger when needed.
•Ensure accidents/incidents are investigated and lessons learnt communicated.
•Monitor Health and Safety performance within the Campus and prepare appropriate reports.
•Prepare a Health and Safety report for the Campus at applicable internals.
•Ensure adequate cover for Health and Safety is provided and alert the BU H&S Manager if this is likely to become a problem.
•Provide main point of contact for enforcement agencies following their visits or investigations.
•Keep up to date with legislation and interpretations thereof to facilitate the provision of competent Health and Safety advice to the business.
•Be aware of own limitations and ensure advise given remains within those limitations. Call in additional support to supplement own abilities where required.
•Identify learning and development requirements for yourself as well as those of staff who report to you
•Coach staff at all levels in Health and Safety expectations and standards
Candidate Requirements
•Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
•Professionally recognised EHS qualification preferred (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 6, GradIOSH/CMIOSH or equivalent).
•Minimum 7–10 years’ experience within a senior EHS leadership role in construction, Data Centres, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, or mission-critical environments.
•Strong knowledge of UK construction safety legislation and familiarity with European EHS standards.
•Proven experience managing EHS across large-scale campus or multi-phase construction projects.
•Experience working within high-risk environments including:
Data Centres, Pharmaceutical facilities, Cleanrooms, Live operational environments, Major MEP installations
•Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
•Strong auditing, reporting, and incident investigation capability.
•Proven ability to influence teams and drive positive behavioural change.
•Comfortable working within fast-paced project environments.
•Flexible to undertake occasional travel within Europe to support regional projects.
•Full UK driving licence and valid passport required.
