Health & Safety Manager Groundworks NW London
About the Company: The company has been operating since the early 90’s and was formed with the intention of carrying out traditional groundworks and Civil Engineering projects. The type of work carried out includes bulk excavation, ground remediation, mass & reinforced concrete foundations, pilecaps & ground beams, ground slabs and drainage. They work on projects up to £8m and have a turnover of circa £30m.
About the Role:
- Day to day dealing of all company matters relating to HSEQ
- Provide legislative & regulation advice on all matters relating to HSEQ
- Ensure compliance with legislation, industry standards & best practice
- Monitor, review, improve & amend the integrated management system ensuring continual improvement & compliance
- Promote a positive health & safety culture through education, consultation, empowerment & training
- Develop & maintain strong working relationships with all employees, contractors & clients
- Support the implementation, design & development of risk management processes, including risk assessments, COSHH assessments & fire assessments
- Support the production of lift plans, traffic management plans & other safe systems of work
- Production & delivery of company-wide inductions
- Accident investigation & reporting
- Health, safety & environment inspections
- Responsibility of maintaining quality accreditations with organisations such as Achilles Building Confidence, Constructionline & CHAS
- Preparing for annual QMS audit by external auditors (Achilles Building Confidence)
- Management of company training requirements ensuring minimum standard of HSE qualifications
- Organising for occupational health
- Production of Operation & Maintenance manuals
Requirements;
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate
- CSCS Card
- Full UK Driving Licence
(Desirable Qualifications)
- NVQ in Occupational Health & Safety Practice (or similar)
- NEBOSH Environmental (or similar)
- CPCS Appointed Person
