GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER(S) – INTERMEDIATE AND SENIOR LEVELS – SALARY COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE
Opportunities exist for geotechnical engineers of intermediate and senior levels to join a well-stablished geotechnical consultancy providing expert geotechnical engineering services. Based in Perth, Western Australia, the consultancy specializes in working on large scale mining projects from conception to operation and all stages in between. The geotechnical engineering has been and is providing active support to rapidly developing significant infrastructure projects. Projects range from ore processing facilities, non-processing infrastructure, corridors (rail, roads, conveyors, power transmission and pipelines) and port developments and expansions. The team is managed by leading practitioners with more than 30 years of experience.
Responsibilities (as appropriate to level of experience) include:
- Assist with planning, coordinating and management of geotechnical studies from site selection, through detailed design, construction and operation.
- Carry out geotechnical analysis and design of foundations, slopes, piles, earthworks and other geo-structures including assisting with modifying designs based on as encountered ground conditions during construction.
- Prepare high quality technical documentation and detailed geotechnical reports presenting the results of geotechnical / geological investigations, including earthworks specifications and risk assessments.
To be successful for the position you must have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering with completion of geotechnical electives and/or major as part of university studies.
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in undertaking geotechnical investigations, assessments and designs.
- Previous experience with engineering software such as GEOSLOPE, PLAXIS, FLAC, CIRCLY, gINT, WALLAP.
- High level report writing with excellent communication skills.
- Australian or NZ Permanent Residency or Citizenship.
- A full manual WA driver’s license (or eligibility to obtain).
- Chartered status (e.g. CPEng, NER) is desirable and if not, conscientiously working towards achieving it
